A couple weeks ago I shared Baby’s First Birthday Party, and it was so much fun that I wanted to write about my sister’s niece’s Frozen Birthday Party, too! Both parties were DIY, and both were lots fun. However, my sister’s creative efforts were truly spectacular. For any serious crafters and DIYers out there, this post is for you.
The party was in a park shelter next to an awesome playground and pool. I had to leave early for Baby’s nap, but my extended family loved swimming at the after party. My sister lucked out finding such a great space. Even though she booked the party months in advance, almost every park was already reserved. She soon learned that people book shelters for the entire year when sign ups open in January. The park she found was a bit of a drive from her house, but it ended up being perfect for the party.
While my sister was busy setting up, I took pictures of the food and favors before everyone arrived. If you want more details on anything, just ask!
The cake alone was stunning. My sister bought two cakes, one with a vanilla frosting and the other with coconut frosting, and decorated them to look like Elsa’s ice castle. Using cake stands

I loved the Sven Snacks and Olaf Parts! Sven and Olaf are my favorite Frozen characters. I tried to fill up on a lot of broccoli, but I couldn’t resist diving into the fondant snowflakes
The cupcakes and snowflake wands were as delicious as they were cute. I love the way they looked on the cupcake
The Marshmallow candies were the one thing I actually helped make. They look a little messy, but they tasted great. To make them, we melted marshmallow flavored candy melts
Of course, we were almost done before I thought to toss the broken pieces back into the microwave. By that point many broken limbs had already been eaten… oh well.

The DIY fun carried over into the party activities and favors, too. Troll snot, anyone? The silly string was a huge hit, and the make your own necklace station was popular with girls of all ages (I still have mine). The horse hoof noisemakers, coloring sheets, and Olaf stickers were also pretty awesome.
In the background, the Frozen soundtrack played on a loop (obviously). The first time “Let It Go” came on, all of the little girls ran over to the speakers and started belting it out at the top of their lungs. It was absolutely precious.
All in all, it was the most amazing 5-year-old birthday party I have ever seen. I am so happy we drove in and saw so many family and friends for the occassion. Happy Birthday, Kid!

Oh MY GOSH!!! That is AMAZING. Wow. I am in awe of the amount of work and talent that went into putting that party together. Honestly, every single picture of the party food/drinks was amazing! I would show this to my daughter because she wants to have a Monster High party this year and I would REALLY rather not do that for a 7 year old birthday party—-but I’d fear she’d ask me to make the party just like this one and I’m not quite certain I could maser all of that. Maybe I will print this and just show her one or two of the pictures?? LOL. AMAZING!!! So cool! Frozen is so great and it amazes me all the unique things people come up with. I love the snowflake wands and ice blocks–amazing.
Thank you! I don’t blame you for keeping it hidden. It takes a lot of time and patience to pull off, but I was pleasantly surprised at how affordable an awesome Disney party can be when it’s mostly DIY. Too bad I’m lacking the time and patience!

Where did you find the marshmallow candy mold?
My sister found it on eBay. I searched online to find one, and unfortunately couldn’t find another one to link to. I’d keep an eye out on eBay or ask on Facebook (i.e. in swap & share groups) or on Craigslist if you’re searching for one!
