Farrah & Baby

Hi! I’m Farrah, your resident boy mom and bookworm. I can often be be found at the nearest coffee shop blogging away or talking for hours on an awesome friend date. The library is another favorite spot of mine, and I’ve scoped out almost all of them in my city in search of the best storytimes for Baby.

About Farrah Udell

In addition to being new parents, my husband and I are also new home owners. While neither of us are experienced designers, we are very excited to turn our house into a home. At this point, Baby’s Harry Potter nursery is the only room that’s complete, but I’m planning to share a tour of our home as soon as more rooms are ready for viewing.

One hold up on the home front is that my husband won’t let me move his bestie’s couch (it’s Sirius’ favorite place to snooze). Sirius is our rambunctious Black Labrador/Catahoula Leopard rescue (we had to Google it, too). He has a ferocious bark, but if you get close enough he’ll quickly cover in you in kisses. And yes, he has his own sofa.

Before staying at home and launching Reflective Mama, I worked in leadership development, strategic planning, engagement, and advocacy. I am excited to continue as a consultant in these areas and in social media and blogging. Please send me an email if you are interested in hiring me.

Why I Blog

I love to learn. Books, articles, teachers, friends, mentors, YouTube, Twitter, Google… I’m always excited to read, listen, and take in more. Nothing has made me seek out more new information than becoming a mom. Talk about a steep learning curve. And panic. Lots of panic.

Countless books, magazines, articles, breastfeeding hotline calls, mom groups, blogs, and texts later, I discovered so many different opinions and perspectives (especially in regards to sleep). I found some amazing resources and support. Some of the best ideas, stories, inspiration and camaraderie came from stumbling across mommy blogs online.

I am so grateful to the women who opened up their lives to others online, sharing their stories, experiences, humor, and insights. This incredible community has made me laugh and cry, challenged me to move out of my comfort zone, and most of all, believe in myself. Reflective Mama is my way to pay it forward. This blog will be a place to share my favorite parenting resources while also chronicling our daily adventures, reviewing favorite books and products, and reflecting on being “Mom” and finding my true self along the way.

But enough about me! I would love to learn more about you. Please share your thoughts, comments and feedback here and throughout the site. I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon!

I love your about page Farrah and I love your “favourite posts” section too. I might have to do that when I rewrite my about page for the 100th time! LOL

Thanks so much for sharing and for joining my #Blirthdaybash!

    Wishing you a lovely day.

Thank you, Jennifer! The Blirthday Bash was my motivation for updating it this time! I finally added pictures at the top and played with the layout. The favorite posts gallery was my Blog Staycation project ~ it took a long time but I’m so happy I finally learned how to do it!
